Why When I

We don't exist upon your wall
But I am to assume I mean the world
There is no urgency in us
But I am to assume it is everything
I am not allowed into your heart
But I am to assume all that is there
I am not allowed to understand
But I am to assume it all makes sense
We don't glimmer in your eyes
But I am to assume together forever
We used to calm my soul
When the world wreaked havoc
We became the havoc
That wreaked my soul
We used to be taken lightly
Because there was no real future
We used to pass aimlessly
Because there was no need to think twice
But here we are, we are breaking
I am to assume I unwound the strings
For the things that were wounded
Were never as I desired
Here we are falling
Into a never ending cycle
I am to assume I want too much
That when I speak I cause a mental eruption
We break my heart
When we seem to have no priority
When we seem to just get by
When I must list all the reasons without rhyme or reason or help or support that you want exactly what I want; when all I've done is spoken, and expressed, and pleaded, and asked, and fell on my knees and begged.
When I assume, I am wrong.
But I am but to assume the best intentions.
