Priest

A cross between:

1) Silas from DaVinci Code
2) Pitch Black
3) The Chronicles of Riddick
4) Aliens
5) Wild, Wild West

Priest was a cool character - but that's as good as the movie got... It was too unoriginal - but the concept had so much potential... Oh well.

3/10

Movie Updates

What a SH*T movie...
It started with some potential...
The monsters look like the "mud" monster from Robert Munsch's book...
Or maybe something out of the Neverending Movie...
And then it just ENDED... wtf???

Very... melodramatic...
Not even worth the rental... The concept COULD have been interesting.. but it wasn't

The Warden

Check out the short film that Scott did for the VIFF (Vancouver International Film Festival)
Please pass it along to all you know!!!

The Warden

The Other Guys

Let's just say... I still don't like Will Ferrell and I'm starting to like Mark Wahlberg less and less.

Lame with a few chuckles is as best as I can describe it.
If you have nothing better to do, too much money, too much time, too much of wastefulness - then watch it....

Inception & The Hurt Locker

Haven't seen a good movie in a long time - this one - I think is definitely worth it - especially if you're like me and is fascinated by the dream world...

On a different note - The Hurt Locker - which won the Best Picture Award - bought it, saw it - was a "different" movie, but I'm not sure if it was worthy of such a win - though, I must say I did enjoy the complexities of the human psyche and the character development was very good - considering there hasn't been a movie out in so long that dives into character development - I would recommend it - as a rental (or borrow my copy)  :)

Things to Look Forward To!

Secretly looking forward to:

The Socerer's Apprentice

Life as We Know It

Harry Potter & the Deathly Hollows

Disney's Tangled

And a few I'm happily looking forward to:

X-Men: First Class

Green Lantern

The Smurfs - in 3D

Avatared

Amazing CGI - check
Cool scenery - double check
Oscar winning plot - questionable
Deserving all Oscar animations - double questionable

Was it a good flick yah I'd say so. Is it the flick of the decade I wouldn't count on it. The whole bad guy seemingly straight out of Halo 3 wasn't impressive at all. I felt like I was momentarily playing star craft or something. Maybe it was the mind control avatar thing I felt severely disconnected with the tribe.
Pandora was definitely amazing however I'm a little sad to realize my basis for my fantasy world "the hanging city" is no longer
my best kept secret... I guess all brilliance does become reality one day.

Would I recommend it - yes and for the first time I actually would recommend it in 3D. Would I sit through it again - to be honest, probably not.

Movie Updates

First - the movies I've recently seen:

Valentine's Day - yes, as cheesy as it was supposed to be, I actually liked it a lot.  The cast was quite huge - no oscar nomination I'm sure, but still it hit the spot where I needed some loving most.

Alice in Wonderland in 3D - A) didn't need to be watched in 3D, B) very creative C) very Tim Burton D) overall not bad, but I'm not sure if it warranted a rush to opening weekend.  E) If you don't know the story of Alice you'll be very lost because he's done quite an adaptation instead of a literal re-make... Amazing cinematography though.

To the Oscars

1) Yay to woman winning best director

2) Yay to UP

3) Now I must see the Hurt Locker

4) Yay to Sandra Bullock - she did do quite a good job in the Blind Side

5) Yay to getting the summary and not sitting there for 3 hours watching the whole thing

You Really Wanna Know What Love Is...

Watch the Blindside

and read about Michael Jerome Oher in the The Blindside: Evolution of the Game

I'm a football fan, but this story - it's more than just a good football player being found in the ghetto... It's what humanity can be like.

Don't care what the review said - but I liked the movie very much.
