Obsession

My obsession beyond the very need to be on a golf course is excellence.
Aristotle said: We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Aristotle was right.
If you practice what you strive to be, without the disillusions of false pretenses,
you are likely to succeed.
I'm an idealist to a fault.
With idealism comes the desire for perfection.
Perfection, in turn, is intermingled with excellence.
For some, perfection and excellence are words of fantasy.
I have been on many occasions disappointed -
By myself, for wanting more than I am capable of.
By others, for seeing they are not giving their utmost.
