Day by Day the air grows colder
Night after Night the shadows stretch further
Moment by Moment this heart grows weaker
Wondering why it ever wanted to feel again
The childhood grin outgrown by yesterdays
Hopes and dreams of tomorrow died with good byes
Believing in goodness of humanity
Still clenched by innocent naivety
Why has love become a nonchalance
Cast aside like it doesn't matter
When did the butterflies flutter away
