Cup is All Full

You must hit rock bottom to reach sky high

Caught

Today, no picture, but it captures the very feelings I've had for the last few days. It may seem comical, but the truth of the matter is, life is a lot more convoluted than I could imagine. These last few days I've dealt with overbearing truth and how people are convinced that professing a lie can cover their tracks. Poor them, to think that they are smart enough to trick themselves. We are but blind bats to our own emotions.

Shadows of the Day

Shadows lurk in my four corners
Never letting me rest in peace.
Haunted by the other's past
Darkness hangs like humid dew.

Today my eyes were finally opened.
Why am I being punished when I did not make the mistakes?
How have I become the scapegoat in a life that needs more re-structuring than the twin towers.
A part of me boils with severe anger,
yet ther other part has resolved to the fact that maybe this is how it will always be:
haunted by the half truths.
Am I right to sigh and feel discouraged?
Or is there hope that all half lies have a stronger half truth that may, somehow, rectify the wrong half.
My mind is running in a circle.
One that had no beginning and will certainly not have an end.

Obsession

My obsession beyond the very need to be on a golf course is excellence.
Aristotle said: We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Aristotle was right.
If you practice what you strive to be, without the disillusions of false pretenses,
you are likely to succeed.
I'm an idealist to a fault.
With idealism comes the desire for perfection.
Perfection, in turn, is intermingled with excellence.
For some, perfection and excellence are words of fantasy.
I have been on many occasions disappointed -
By myself, for wanting more than I am capable of.
By others, for seeing they are not giving their utmost.

Calculated Error

What does it mean when someone says they have made a calculated error?
If the event to occur had been analyzed and found to be faulty, why did the event take place?

Fragments

In brokenness complete.

More than Words

Saying I love you
Is not the words I want to hear from you
It's not that I want you
Not to say, but if you only knew
How easy it would be to show me how you feel
More than words is all you have to do to make it real
Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me
Cos I'd already know
What would you do if my heart was torn in two
More than words to show you feel
That your love for me is real
What would you say if I took those words away
Then you couldn't make things new
Just by saying I love you
More than words
Now I've tried to talk to you and make you understand
All you have to do is close your eyes
And just reach out your hands and touch me
Hold me close don't ever let me go
More than words is all I ever needed you to show
Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me
Cos I'd already know
What would you do if my heart was torn in two
More than words to show you feel
That your love for me is real
What would you say if I took those words away
Then you couldn't make things new
Just by saying I love you
More than words

A Moment's Relief

He sat there, patiently listening, to the inconsistent run-on sentences that blurted out of my mouth.
He paid attention to all my vexations and remained focused.
There was no changing of topics, no avoidance of truth, just listening.
He gazed intently in my eyes as I fought tears.
In the silence he understood, for once he understood.
There in a moment's relief sparked recognition -
of a better future; a better life; a better us.
A second wind; a second cup to fill.

Take Flight

Freedom is what you do with what's been done to you.
- J.P Satre-

I pray for freedom
from emotions;
from the heart;
from the inability to reason;
from not comprehending logic.
I pray for a release
from being suffocated;
from being suppressed;
from knowing myself;
from feeling alone.

Twilight Zone

wait for me, break of day
And leave me not in darkness.

Saturated

How could you stand here with me
and not be moved?
Is it so hard to see past the absurdities
To a place where you can find peace again.
Calm your storms and heal your soul,
Never let you go
What is better than this
For you to push away your needs.
Clouded judgement, frozen heart.
What can change you
Warm you inside out
How could you stand here and not be moved.

Spiral Up, Spiral down

Coming or going nobody knows
Up or down we all fall short

Brick Wall

Do you know what it's like to talk to a brick wall?
I do.
Do you know how frustrating one way conversations are?
I do.
Wake me up when this nightmare passes.

Must I

The void is imminent
I alone must stand
Must fight
Must change
The signs are obvious
I alone must find
Must realize
Must accept
The wrong has been done
I alone must forgive
Must forget
Must let go
The words are hidden
I alone must speak
Must comprehend
Must ask why
The heart is broken
I alone must cry
Must wallow
Must die
Am I alone to want paradise

The Apple

Kingdom: Plantae
Class: Magnoliophyta
Family: Rosaceae
Genus: Malus
Eve was seduced into eating the forbidden fruit.
It cost her paradise but gave her sight.
Hercules sought it, growing on the Tree of Life.
He found it.

1956: The Four Brothers sung, "You're the Apple of My Eye"

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away"

1977: The birth of Apple Inc
Now owning the largest market share in MP3 systems.

The apple made Snow White choke.
Despite being "dead" for so long, a bump in her coffin caused it to dislodge.
And she woke up.

Apple seeds contain amygdalin, which can shut down the body's metabolic functions.
This can cause death.

Fuji apples are my favorite.

Euphoria

"Strongly addictive - user may experience euphoria"

Memory Lane

Do you remember running after your first ice cream truck?
Or the first fall off your bicycle?
How about the first time you went to school?
Or the first time you skipped it?
Do you remember your first love?
Your first heart break?
Do you remember your first disappointment?
Or your first triumph?
Do you remember your first breath?
Will you remember your last?

Irony

"Isn't it ironic, don't you think?
It's like rain on your wedding day.
it's that free ride when you've already paid.
it's the free advice that you just didn't take."

The Calm to My Soul

LEANN RIMES lyrics

There is a storm and I don't know why. Winter needs to pass so I can clear my head. When a million electrically charged particle take flight, collisions occur. If at a high enough output, a chain reaction occurs. Some chain reactions induce a positive result, some, like the hydrogen reaction can cause a catastrophic affect. Today, I pray for a neutralization in my mind. Let the calm to my soul take over me. Let the waves wash away my inequities and make me forget.
Tonight, let me die a little death, to awaken to a bright new day.
